I found this tag and thought it would be perfect for me to do. While I wasn’t tagged in it, I love music (and books, obviously) so I’m excited to share some of my favourite songs!

MY JAM: A song you must listen to every time it comes on, no matter how old or how many times you’ve listened to it / A book you’ll never get sick of.

For a song I would have to say “The Kids Aren’t Alright” by Fall Out Boy. This was sort of the first song that really got me into them, and it broke a lot of my views on FOB being only hard rock and harsh sounds. It will always have a special place in me because of that. Also its a bop.

Book-wise, it was easy to choose Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz. I’ve written a little about this book in a previous tag, but I don’t think I really showed how much I loved it. I only read it for the first time at the beginning of the year, and I’ve already reread it several times. Its just the book form of a big, warm embrace.

THROWBACK: A song that reminds you of the cringiest time of your life/ A book that also reminds you of this time (or just something you wouldn’t like as much if you picked it up for the first time now).

I think for a lot of people a song that reminds them of a cringey time of their life is by One Direction, and I am no exception. For me it would be “best song ever”. Oh gawd just thinking about it makes me cringeeee. I remember I would watch the music video for this song over and over because I thought it was so cool *insert face palm here*

In terms of books, I would say that if I picked up any sort of YA crime novel I wouldn’t enjoy it as much as I used to. Now I have delved into the vivid world of Adult fiction, I think if I picked up YA crime I would find it rather tame compared to the gruesome elements Adult crime fiction boasts.

REPLAY: A recent song you have on repeat right now/ a recent favourite book.

A song I have been loving right now is “Favourite Records” by Fall Out Boy. I really have just been loVING them recently, particularly American Beauty/American Psycho (the album).

For a book I have chosen Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. While the book has been out for over a year, I only read it a few months ago, and immediately fell in love. I’m quite glad I read it later though, as it meant I had to wait less for the sequel, although it still felt like an endlessly long time. But its OUT!!! I am so excited even though I haven’t even gotten it yet aH. I have to read it soon though otherwise I may actually die

GETS ME: This Song is me/ This book is me in book form.

A song that represents me would probably be “Demons” by Imagine Dragons. Its a bit of a depressing one, and I’m not quite sure why it has such an impact on me. Whenever I listen to it though, it shakes me to my core.

I’ve yet to come across a book that I think represents me.

WUT?: Wierd but I liked it?/ A unique book thats stuck out to you for whatever reason.

AJR are one of my favourite band, but some of their stuff is pretty weird… One of my personal favourites though is “Birthday party”. I think it’s one of those things you either love or hate, and I love it.

Another book I’ve mentioned on my blog before, but on a much bigger scale, is Foe by Iain Reid. I won’t get too into the book, as I have a whole review/recommendation for it that you can read.

CHILL: Favourite chill, relaxing song/ A book you’d curl up with and read on a rainy day.

The song I chose for this one is “Like Everybody Else” by Lennon Stella. I only just recently heard this song, and before I did I had no idea who Lennon Stella was. I like to listen to sad songs to relax, as they often just wash over you, and this song is just so delicate, yet so full of meaning, and I have been really enjoying it.

I chose They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera as a relaxing book for me. This book is just so sad and sweet, and just everything I like in a book, especially one to read in one sitting.

And that’s it! I had a lot of fun doing this tag, so I hope you enjoyed it too 🙂

Anywayz, peace out Homiez
